Top o' the mornin' Tiny Top Hats

I will admit I am bad at doing cutsie things for my kiddos or different holidays.

I see all kinds of fun things on Pinterest

(darn you, Pinterest! Follow me here!) but very rarely to I get around to actually making something.
 

Enter the super-duper, easy-peasy-shamrock-squeezy headband/hair clippie!

So simple to make!  I made 4 in 20 minutes.
And that was with distractions from the kids.
Please excuse my awesome cell phone pics.
It won't happen again. That I know of. ;)

I got a 6 pack of these wee lads at JoAnns for $2.50
(50% off the regular price - $.42 each!)

With a glue gun, I put a circle of glue around the rim

Place your hat onto some felt.
I chose green but yellow or gold would be fun too!

Cut around the hat plus one extra circle
TIP: fold the felt so you're cutting both at the same time!

Run a line of glue across the hat...

Plant a headband along that line of glue.

 

 

(I got these headbands at a closeout sale a 

couple years ago 

but check your local dollar store!)

Squish more glue

Place the extra circle on top and you're done!

Ta-da!

Here's how I made a clippie version:

On one side of the extra circle, snip a tiny hole.

Slide in your clip.

(I got a box of alligator clips at Sally Beauty Supply for cheap)

On the bottom of the HAT, squiggle some glue.

Put the extra circle+clip on top.
Make sure you get the part your squeeze to open
on the OUTSIDE and not upside down like i did the first time.
ahem.

and DONE!

Super simple, pretty dang cheap, pretty darn fast.  

My kind of craft.  

Cause if we're being honest, if I can't get it finished in one day, it's probably not getting done.

Truth.

Unless I get a wild hair and go crazy.

I usually have wild hair.

I'm usually crazy.

But the two together doesn't happen as often as it maybe should. ;)
